The trail for Africa has arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
The Trail for Africa has arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Our employee Daniel Preuß and the doctor and cameraman Dr. Peter Becker have travelled almost 9,000 km in 47 days and in doing so crossed 10 countries in Europe and Africa. With their initiative we would like to call attention to the situation of AIDS orphans in Tanzania. Meanwhile a training and production workshop (Multiple Education Center) for youths has opened in Tanzania.
We regularly report about the Trail for Africa as well as progress in the MEC on this website. We at update are dedicated to our relationship with Streetkids International and supported the Trail for Africa project.

The foundation stone for a further orphanage has been laid. In the meantime, more Aids orphans are feeling safe and secure with Streetkids International. They can know attend school and have a home with people who lovingly care for them. Adopters are still wanted for children Yohana (10 years old) and Ezekia (8 years old) - see pictures. Please refer to For the Streetkids International e.V. orphans, the association bears the costs of the education. The orphans are however obliged to support the orphanage in which they grew up for a minimum of three years after the end of their apprenticeship. The funding requirements for the education of approx. 120 children and young people until the year 2010 amounts to just 150,000 Euros. The regular operations will begin in January 2008. |
