Vienna, Frankfurt, 19 October 2006 +++ In its Q3 2006 earnings release, update software AG, a leading CRM solutions provider listed on the Frankfurt stock exchange, reports an increase in total revenue of around 22% year-on-year, with licence revenue soaring almost 37%. Operating profit (EBIT) is almost 25% higher than last year’s Q3 EBIT.
Revenue up 21.8%
update software AG’s total revenue increased to EUR 5.379 million in the third quarter of 2006, up 21.8% year-on-year (Q3 2005: EUR 4.418 million). All revenue segments contributed to this strong improvement with above-average growth. The largest contributor was the licence business with an increase of 36.7%. The company’s third-quarter EBIT was EUR 0.548 million, which corresponds to an increase of 24.8% compared to Q3 2005. The corresponding earnings before tax (EBT) of EUR 0.656 million compare with the EBT in the third quarter of 2005 of EUR 0.472 million, an increase of 39.0%.
Overall, total revenue for the first three quarters was EUR 16.210 million (up 25.2% compared to the same period in 2005). EBIT for this period totalled EUR 1.353 million, up 6.0% from the same period in 2005 (EUR 1.276 million). Accumulated EBT for the first three quarters was EUR 1.422 million (up 2.5% compared to EUR 1.388 million in 2005).
Shareholder’s equity up 30.2%, cash position down 8.1%
update software AG’s shareholder’s equity as of 30 September 2006 totalled EUR 13.953 million, compared to EUR 10.715 million on 30 September 2005.
The cash position on 30 September 2006 was EUR 8.262 million, down 8.1% from the balance at the end of Q3 2005 (EUR 8.995 million). However, comparing the cash positions is not really meaningful, given the capital increase carried out in the first quarter of 2005.

In the third quarter, a number of renowned companies chose update’s CRM solution, among them, in Germany, Daimler Chrysler AG, the well-known piano manufacturer Wilhelm Schimmel Pianofortefabrik GmbH, and Enerco Systems GmbH & Co. KG in the energy sector, and in the Netherlands, the furniture manufacturer Leolux Meubelfabriek B.V. and Geertsema Staal B.V. in the steel sector.
