Vienna, Frankfurt, June 02, 2005 +++ update software AG, a leading European CRM (Customer Relationship Management) solutions provider listed on the Frankfurt stock exchange, has announced Mr. Gilbert Hödl’s retirement from his position as Deputy Chairman of the company’s Supervisory Board at the close of today’s Annual Shareholders’ Meeting. The shareholders elected Mr. Richard Roy as a new member of the Supervisory Board.
At the constituent meeting of the new Supervisory Board held immediately following the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting, Mr. Frank Hurtmanns was confirmed in his position as Chairman, and Mr. Hans Strack-Zimmermann was appointed the new Deputy Chairman. All Supervisory Board mandates remain effective until the Shareholders‘ Meeting decides on the ratification of the acts of the Board for the 2005 financial year.

Richard Roy is an independent business consultant with a degree in engineering. He began his international career at Hewlett Packard in 1981. Over the course of his 11 years with HP, he held senior positions in sales before moving on to a management position with Computer System Organisation in 1992. Three years later he joined Siemens Nixdorf AG as Executive Vice President and Member of the Executive Board of its “Public Contractors and Telecommunications” division. From 1997 onward he served as Chairman of the management board of Microsoft GmbH, Germany, where he assumed the position as Vice President of Corporate Strategy for the EMEA region on 1 July, 2001.
In addition to his supervisory board mandate with update software AG, Mr. Roy is also a member of the Board of Directors of Swisscom AG (Bern, Switzerland), Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Realtech AG (Walldorf, Germany), Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Premiere AG (Unterföhring, Germany), and Senior Advisor of Permira Beteiligungs GmbH (Frankfurt, Germany).
