Several new customers ensure 28% growth in sales for update software AG in third quarter of 2011

Vienna, November 10, 2011 +++ update software AG, the European manufacturer of premium CRM solutions headquartered in Vienna, continues on its path to success. In the third quarter of 2011, update was once again able to significantly increase sales: by 28.3% as compared to the previous quarter, to a total of EUR 8.3 million. Earnings before interest and taxes are also positive again, at EUR 0.5 million. As before, the transformation of the business model towards a Software-as-a-Service approach plays an outstanding strategic role at update. Almost half of the new customers acquired in the first three quarters have opted for the SaaS offering update.revolution.

“The figures for the third quarter confirm that update is on the right path. Our industry-specific solutions meet the demand, and our business model gives us a unique selling point that is one of a kind in our competitive environment,” says update CEO Thomas Deutschmann. Besides new customers, over the past months update was also able to convince independent experts in the CRM sector of its solutions: not only did update do extremely well at the CRM Excellence Test and at the IT & Business trade fair, but it also received the renowned CRM certificate from Schwetz Consulting – for the third time.

New customers, too, had good reason to choose update. “With update, we have found a CRM solution that meets our requirements in Marketing, Sales and Service and really understands our business,” says, for example, Ingmar Blum, Director of Marketing, Sales & eBusiness Solutions at Zumtobel AG, a global player in the lighting industry. “Besides the sector-specific focus on industry and the many strong references, the user-friendliness also speaks for the CRM specialist update."

With its solutions, update continues to focus on the specific CRM needs of three select industries: Life Sciences, Financial Service Providers and Industry.

• Among update’s new customers in the Industry sector are: Fixit TM Holding, Index-Werke GmbH & Co. KG, Phoenix-Dichtungstechnik (PDT group), S. Siedle & Söhne Telefon- und Telegrafenwerke OHG, TechniSat Digital GmbH and Zumtobel.
• In the financial services sector, the following new customers, amongst others, have chosen update: Hanseatic Brokerhouse Securities AG, Kathrein Privatbank AG from Austria, as well as – in the course of an EEC-wide CRM project – three further subsidiaries of the UniCredit Group in Bulgaria, Rumania and Russia.
• Amongst the important new customers in the Life Sciences sector are, for example, the Meda Pharma GmbH and the Wörwag Pharma GmbH & Co. KG.
